The Ives Architecture Studio often refers our clients to the Ridgewood Post Office as an example of one of our rehabilitation successes. The project designed by the Ives Group, Architects/Planners made the historic entrance handicapped accessible and salvaged the historic eagle above the front door. We replaced the windows to match exactly what was there previously and repaired the deteriorated brickwork by the use of stainless steel helical fasteners. The roofing was replaced and the lobby renovated. As seen in this recent photograph, the building is a vital part of downtown Ridgewood, which despite its age, continues to weather the elements stoically due to a meticulous restoration.
